As Mattheiu speaks Lucifer pulls him closer, listening quietly and continuing to run his fingers through the man's hair. He can't understand exactly what the reaper is going through, but he knows enough about Mattheiu to know that things like this weigh heavily.
"I trust you," he murmurs, pressing a kiss to his reaper's temple, "and I know that you're strong. Very strong."
