Myth!AU - Unforeseen Side Effects

It's hard to relax after a long shift roaming around the city and maintaining the teetering balance but what made it all the more easier was the fact that his partner was awaiting in his apartment and graciously welcomed him back when he arrived. There was still some residual exhaustion but he was eager to hold a small conversation before slipping away to clean himself up from the work day. The hardest part of the whole thing was making sure that Lucifer didn't simply barge into the bathroom while he took a shower to decompress peacefully for a couple of moments.

When he's all clean and dressed in but a simple t-shirt and shorts, the reaper eyes the belt that he carried on his person as a small prank formulated in his plan. Lucifer was rather fond of all manners of serpents and he was no stranger to what the belt could do. Still that didn't mean that Matthieu couldn't surprise him nonetheless.

Belt in hand behind his back, he slowly stalks through the halls to locate his quarry. It doesn't take much to locate the man who was lounging across bed in the guest bedroom downstairs, seemingly entertaining himself with whatever was on his phone. The perfect opportunity to strike. He doesn't waste the precious chance and charges into the bedroom with a tease in french before jumping onto the bed and wrapping the belt around the unsuspecting man's waist.

The magic is activated with a quick ignition feed of his energy. However something feels distinctly off this time though he can't investigate too much as he loses his balance and slips off the bed in the end. Mission success!

...though he didn't realize what he had really done.

The noise stirs up a surge of concern that gets the reaper to press his forehead against the devil's, softly giving a worried inquisitive noise while they settle against each other once more. He doesn't want to let go of the feelings that thrum through him. The love and adoration almost more than he could ever hope for.

"I got you, raleur."

"Darling, Matthieu-" The words spill past his lips as he rocks into his reaper, going taught as he finally comes hard and stains the space between them with hot slick. It's the rush of emotion that undoes him in the end, and while his coils briefly tighten he clings to the other man, breathing heavily and burying his head in Mattheiu's shoulder.

His hands clutch tight to him at the sudden heat rushing through him and coating his stomach. He groans softly as he rides out the man's end, smearing kisses along his jaw all the while. Lucifer is tucked in close after the tensing ceases.

He catches his breath before nosing at the man's temple. "Got you...and love you, raleur. Always."

Everything is intense, and it threatens to overwhelm him as he struggles to catch his breath. Lucifer can't remember the last time he was so taken, and he reaches up to blindly paw at Mattheiu's shoulder before he presses a weary kiss to the man's shoulder. "I love you so, darling. Ever so. Forever so."

The reaper holds him close, catching his breath while monitoring his partner’s. Apparently he wasn’t the only one that had been taken for a loop with all this. He gently cards a hand through Lucifer’s hair with soft kisses going down from his temple to his jaw.

“You ok,” he asks. “Yea love you always and forever yours.”

"Just peachy," he works out, a hint of breathless amusement in his tone. With a bit of effort he shifts, coiling on himself in order to sit back and give Mattheiu a better place to rest. "Have I ever told you that you're amazing, darling? Because you're bloody brilliant."

He steals away a brief kiss, smiling. Working with the movements, he settles in comfortably against Lucifer with an arm loosely around him. This is where he wants to be. Amongst the mess of blankets and pillows while resting with his partner.

“Plenty of times and always thankful to hear,” he answers. “I think someone said I stroke his ego too much but you are too, raleur.”

"You stroke so well," he teases back as he reaches to grab a corner of a blanket so that he can very gently clean off some of the mess that the both of them have made. After he's discarded the soiled thing, he pulls a fresh blanket across them, making sure to keep Mattheiu warm.

“Get plenty of practice with my partner,” he jokes, laughing fondly. He moves enough to let the man clean up before resting against him once more. A content sigh slipping out at the warmth of the blanket and Lucifer’s coils.

His eyes slipping shut for a bit. “Think that was worth getting bit.”

"I'm still sorry," he murmurs leaning in to nuzzle at the crux of Mattheiu's neck. Very gently he places a light kiss to the marks he left behind, "we'll get you bandaged up. After you get rest."

[upforanything]

"It's fine. I mean it too," he reassures. His hand goes up to touch at the marks but stop when Lucifer kisses them. Instead it goes up to cup the man's cheek, giving a gentle stroke of his thumb as he looks up. "It doesn't need to be bandaged. Maybe washed but it'll disappear given enough time. Told you I was pretty hardy and that's part of it."

"Hmm, you are hardy we've tested that," he teases gently, gently running his tongue over the marks before placing another kiss to them. With a quiet sigh he leans into Mattheiu's hand and lets his eyes slip shut.

“Got to be so for what I do and well to keep up with you.” He can’t stop the slight shudder that quakes through him. It’s an afterthought soon enough when he presses his forehead against Lucifer’s, tracing along his jawline.

“Another thing proven is you’re a sap,” he teases.

"Well I do so like to help with your work," he chuckles, nuzzling into the crux of Mattheiu's neck, "and really. A sap? You'll tarnish my reputation."

[upforanything]

“I’m not going to be shouting it from the rooftops. So your reputation can remain intact,” he muses, tilting his head enough for him to comfortably nuzzle. A shy smile coming to life on Matthieu’s face. “Besides maybe you’ve rubbed off on me and I’ve learned to be somewhat selfish over a few things.”

"Good, I'm glad you've learned to be selfish," he responds offhandedly, "you deserve to have things for you and only you."

It's true, he's entirely of the mind that Mattheiu sacrifices far too much for those around him, to the detriment of his own self. It's good to see the reaper taking more for himself, and Lucifer is certainly happy to enable that in any way possible.

“Learned or reminded really.” However his words fail him at the next bit. Did he deserve such? He thought he already had things only for him but they were small and not comparable to his partner. Not even close.

His other hand goes up to cup Lucifer’s other cheek. “I’m yours and as you’ve said before, you’re mine. All of the visits to you and taking off of work when you’re here...my time is better spent with you. Don’t care if that’s selfish.”

"I'll always be yours, darling," he murmurs as he gently bows his head in order to press a kiss to Mattheiu's palm. It's such a novel thing, but it feels so important to say it again and again.

"Always," he repeats, eyes falling shut as he basks in the warmth of his reaper's touch.

"Same to you, raleur. No matter what," he assures, nosing at his temple. His thumbs giving gentle brushes against Lucifer's cheeks. "Yours and only yours."
